Borderlands 3 Footage Accidentally Gets Leaked By Gearbox On Twitch

Developer Gearbox Software has accidentally leaked a little clip of Borderlands 3 gameplay ahead of its official worldwide reveal which is scheduled for tomorrow, May 1st, reports gaming forum ResetEra. The clip was immediately removed.

A Gearbox Twitch account leaks the Borderlands 3 clip by mistake

Variety notes that the video has been posted by a Gearbox Twitch account and it has been then removed really quickly.

It seems that the streamer has been testing the game’s new ECHOcast Twitch extension which will be launched alongside the gameplay reveal on Wednesday.

It offers viewers the chance to snag some in-game loot whenever their favorite streamers open up particular rare chests.

They will be needing to link a SHiFT account with the Twitch account in order to take advantage of the feature and they will have half a minute available to choose the event.

Variety reports that any loot that users manage to snag will be appearing in their in-game mailboxes and scale to their level.

What did the clip show?

Variety notes that “Although the 26-second clip isn’t really all that revealing, fans on ResetEra did notice a few interesting tidbits. Loot now seems to have some kind of gear score similar to those found in games like Destiny 2.”

The online publication also said that now, guns now have a handling stat, and it also seems that challenges are back.

“It also sounds like the character Claptrap has a new voice. Which is awesome or terrible news depending on how you felt about the lovably annoying robot in the first few games,” the online publication says.

Borderlands 3 has been officially announced during PAX East last month.

The game is scheduled for launch on September 13 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The PC version will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store until April 2020.
