Dragons In The Elder Scrolls 6? Here’s What To Expect

One of the most impressive new features of the Elder Scrolls series were dragons when Skyrim was released back in 2011.

A long extinct race that was born back into Tamriel at the hands of Alduin, the World Eater and the game’s main antagonist.

The Dragon Crisis comes to an end

Following the story of Skyrim, the Dragonborn eventually defeats Alduin and brings the “Dragon Crisis” to an end.

On the other hand, the game does not detail much of the event’s aftermath, and the primary question when we’re looking at The Elder Scrolls 6 remains: will there be dragons?

After they have been extinct for centuries, the dragons did return to Skyrim during the Dragon Crisis. Alduin eventually returns and begins resurrecting dragons from the burial sites.

Eventually, Skyrim becomes the home to a lot of dragons.

At least one dragon remained alive

It’s also important to say that, as VGR reports, “the game also reveals that at least one dragon has remained alive ever since the ancient days of the Merethic Era; Paarthurnax. As such, we can surmise that dragons are capable of living an extremely long time if they aren’t killed by some enterprising Dragonborn, as indeed many are during the events of Skyrim.”

Skyrim did not give gamers too many indications of whether the Dragon Crisis spilled over into other regions as well. In a similar manner to the events of the Oblivion Crisis, players did not learn what had happened to the rest of Tamriel during The Elder Scrolls IV.

On the other hand, The Elder Scrolls: Online did reveal recently that there have been dragons sealed away as far afield as Elsweyr. So, in other words, it’s possible that there may have been dragons burial sites across Tamriel.

VGR says that it’s only fair to assume that even if dragons will be alive in The Elder Scrolls 6, they would probably play a smaller role compared to previous times.
