New Android Store from Samsung? Galaxy Apps Rebranded Right in Time for Samsung Unpacked

Tonight we will see the highly awaited reveal of the new Samsung Galaxy S10 line of smartphones, called Samsung Unpacked. Of course, everyone is holding their breaths for the foldable Samsung smartphone.

We will undoubtedly hear about the earbuds and smartwatch – Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Watch Active, which by the way, have been recently leaked and we saw them from every possible angle! The watch will only have two physical buttons, and the wireless ear buds will come in a stunning Canary Yellow color.

The reveal should offer a lot more information – and confirm or not what was leaked so far about the S10, S10 Plus, the foldable phone, and the wearable devices.

Galaxy Apps Gets Turned Into Galaxy Store

But what we saw on XDA Developers is quite intriguing. The old Galaxy Apps application got rebranded, and it received the One UI design. Even if you haven’t received Android Pie on your Samsung, you must definitely have noticed the new app which is now called Galaxy Store. What does this mean?

The app’s name isn’t the only change. It also looks different, as you can see in the screenshots below taken by XDA’s Max Weinbach:

XDA’s Doug Lynch believes that Samsung has new plans with the app:

Samsung has an extensive selection of accessories for their smartphone products so it’s entirely possible that we could see this app evolve (or extend) to something similar.

Will the company turn the app into a store for apps and for their hardware and accessories?

Maybe Samsung will say something about it tonight at Samsung Unpacked, which will take place later, at the following hours (depending on the region you live in): 11 am PST, 12 pm MST, 1 pm CST, 2 pm EST, 7 pm GMT.
