Samsung Rolls Out Android 9.0 Pie to Galaxy S9 and S9 + in the US

Yesterday Samsung started rolling out Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system to Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + in the UK. However, the South Korean tech giant is now doing the same thing in the US. With that said, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + users are advised to keep a close eye on their notification panel because the new operating system should arrive at any moment now. In addition, the update can also be manually triggered by accessing the “Software Updates” panel in Settings.

One UI

The exciting thing about the new update for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + is not the plethora of features that Android 9.0 Pie brings, but also the fact that it comes with the new One UI. This is the latest UI (user interface) from Samsung and it looks great. Samsung says that One UI has been specially designed to make it easier for people that use smartphones with massive screens to navigate by using large headers and moving buttons.

Galaxy S9 Overview

Galaxy S9 is the smartphone that currently holds the title of being Samsung’s flagship and this means that Galaxy S9 represents the best that the company has to offer in terms of smartphones. Therefore, today we are going to take a look under Galaxy S9’s hood so that we can refresh our memories about what type of performances this high-end smartphone has to offer.

Samsung has equipped Galaxy S9 with a 5.8-inches display that uses Super AMOLED technology. The display offers a high pixel resolution of 1440 x 2960 and a pixel density of 570 ppi. If we take a quick glance under Galaxy S9’s hood, we are going to see that the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 CPU in the US and by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 9810 in the rest of the world.
