The latest update brings new features to the Gear S3
The most recent update for the Samsung Gear S3 watch comes with several new features and improvements. There are many noticeable changes, so let’s take a look at what we should expect.
Once the new firmware is installed on your device, the operating system of the smartwatch, Tizen will be upgraded to the 220.127.116.11 version. The new update brings support for more indoor workouts, as well as for back-to-back workout in Samsung Health. Users of the watch will also get more information about sleep stages in the Health widget and a redesigned interface that contributes to an easier interaction in the Quick Panel.
Two advanced modes have also been added in the Settings area, Theater and Sleep. Samsung Gear S3 users can now enjoy re-categorized menus and support for more than 1,000 emojis. Being able to save drafts in the Messages app is now possible too. Some other changes will be noticed as well.
When will we see the update?
Based on a recent post from SamMobile, the update is currently available only in the United States. However, since this type of updates normally roll out in stages, other markets should soon receive the latest update to Samsung Gear S3 as well.
When it comes to the size of the update, it is 300 MB, so try to remember this before updating your smartwatch. In case you want to check manually if you can already install the update, all you have to do is to open “About Gear”, then ” Update Gear software” in the Settings tab of the Gear S3 app on your watch.
