Apple TV 4K vs. Amazon Fire TV Cube – Best Specs and Price Comparison

We’ve all heard how Apple wants to release its own streaming video service. With all this in mind, we can see how the video streaming wars are about to burst. With Netflix and Amazon and Hulu, we’re not sure who’s going to beat whom. They’re investing billions for you, so imagine how’s going to be. This war is about to start and you need to pick your battles.

Apple wants to find its place among these, with a new video streaming service. They’re talking about tv shows like Game of Thrones, so they’re probably not messing around. Amazon and Netflix are currently working on a lot of original movies and shows.

Apple is set to release its streaming service in 2019. From that moment on, Apple will be able to boast in content and in the product – where you’ll be watching them (perhaps on Apple TV 4K). We feel like this is Amazon all over again, with its Fire TV lineup. Amazon just released its Fire TV device, called Fire TV Cube.

For Apple TV 4K, we say that the output is HDMI 2.0a, its processor is A10X Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture. It has 3GB worth of RAM, with a storage worth of 32GB and 64GB. The maximum output video resolution is of 4K 2160p – with Dolby Vision and HDR10, and its dimensions are 98x98x33mm. It weighs about 425g, and when it comes to connectivity, it has Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0. It also comes with an IR receiver.

For Amazon Fire TV Cube, we say that the output is HDMI 2.0a, its processor is Quad-core up to 1.5 GHz or ARM 4xCA53. It has 2GB worth of RAM, with a storage worth of 16GB. The maximum output video resolution is of 4K 2160p with Dolby Atmos and HDR10, and its dimensions are 86.1mmx86.1mmx76.9mm. It weighs about 465g, and when it comes to connectivity, it has 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth 4 it also comes with an IR receiver and a Micro USB.

Controls and remotes

Both of these devices allow you to control them when using your voice.

For Apple TV, you’ll get “Siri Remote”, which is a remote that will allow you to use Siri in order to control your Apple TV. When you press the Siri button from the remote, you can say the name of the movie, or something like “movies with Tim Roth” and the TV will give you a list of the movies. The TV from Amazon is only available in the US at the moment. However, when it’s time to hit the market in the UK, too, it might come at the price of £120. Apple’s TV costs about £179 for the 32GB model, and £199 for the 64GB model.
