Asus Zenfone 5 Models To Get Android 9 Pie Update

A new set of devices released by Asus has gained access to the latest Android 9 Pie update. The Zenfone 5 Lite, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z were released back in 2018. The former was the first device to receive the update.

Below you can find some of the features offered by the latest version of the Android OS, the Android 9 Pie.

What will the Android 9 Pie update bring to Asus Zenfone 5 series

The Gesture Navigation system

The new gesture navigation system was well-received by the Android community. Instead of using the classic button layout users will have the option to employ simple gestures which can save some time if you like to switch between apps a lot.

Adaptive Display & Battery

The Adaptive Battery feature is an improved version of the Doze functionality introduced in Android 6 Marshmallow. The feature uses machine learning to prioritize the apps which are used often, reducing the number of resources consumed by apps that aren’t usually active.

The new automatic brightness system used the same principle to associate a particular location with a specific brightness level. Your device will be able to learn your preferences and alternate between several setups without the need to manually alter the setting (though you still have the option if you prefer to do so).

App Actions

App Actions aims to boost your productivity by anticipating what you want to do. For example, if you travel to work across a large distance, you may see a shortcut which allows you to open Google Maps quickly.

Privacy features

Many users have started to be more preoccupied about their privacy, and they can be confident that the latest Android version appreciates this. Apps who have access to sensors, the camera, and the microphone will not be able to use them while they are idle.

While users have the option to install the Android 9 Pie update manually on Asus Zenfone 5 models, it is advised to do only if you know what you are doing. The classic OTA process is preferred, and you can activate it manually by going to Settings/System/System Updates. Follow the steps shown, and your devices will be updated in a few minutes.
