Using an Android powered smartphone brings lots of benefits and one of the most valuable ones is the fact that Android users are the first in line to get Google’s latest updates. Google is renowned for always improving its apps and operating system through a constant stream of updates that introduce software tweaks and bug fixes. Talking about new updates from Google, Android fans should be happy to know that Google Play Services has just received a new update.
Google Play Services Update
The new update for Google Play Services was released earlier today and it changes the app’s version number to 15.1.80. Considering that this is Google we are talking about, no one should be surprised to find out that the new update is available in the form of APK. This update acronym stands for “Android Package Kit” and there are a couple of things that Android fans need to do in order to make their smartphones compatible with APKs.
Everyone who wants to install APK updates is required to manually download them. The reason behind this is that APK updates are not released via OTA (over the air) channels and they are published directly on Google’s APK website. Furthermore, all Android fans need to enable the “Unknown Sources” option from the Privacy panel of their smartphones because the update is not being released via the Google Play Store.
The question that all Android fans must be asking themselves right now is what does this new update introduce? Well, the answer is a handful of software tweaks that the performances of Google Play Services to the next level. Google Play Services is a background app and its role is to make sure that the operating system offers an immersive and premium user experience which makes the new update a high priority download.
