While we wait for Bethesda to tease us with at least another 30-second long trailer that could show us something about the story to come, we browsed deep for more information on The Elder Scrolls 6. Although most of the information is made up from rumors, speculations and what players hope, some of the following things we will talk about today really make sense.
Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date
Let’s start with the facts and then go to the speculations.
First of all, the good news is that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be developed, if it’s not already in development. It was announced last year at E3, and even though the reveal only showed a close-up aerial view of the image above, the crowd was very excited.
Considering The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has been successful, it makes sense that Bethesda wants to continue their two-decade-old series we all love!
Now when will The Elder Scrolls 6 be released?
Looking at what Todd Howard, the Bethesda director, said during last year’s E3, we will have to wait for the game to be released after Starfield which is in the works.
Considering that Starfield is planned for the next-gen consoles and gaming hardware, it means we won’t be seeing The Elder Scrolls 6 in 2020 when the brand new generation of gaming should be released.
Elder Scrolls 6 Location
We’ve taken a look at what Andrew Williams and Sam Loveridge wrote on Digitalspy about The Elder Scrolls 6 and their opinion on the locations where the next game should be set, and we love their ideas.
Looking at how the rest of the Elder Scrolls games take place in different places in Tamriel, we got a few options left. The first title took the High Rock and Hammerfell provinces, Morrowind took the island of Vvardenfell, Oblivion took place in Cyrodil and Skyrim obviously was set in Skyrim.
The only areas left are Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh (Argonia). We should also consider Morrowind which wasn’t completely featured in The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind (apart for the island).
Williams and Loveridge theorize that, according to online rumors, the Black Marsh or as we know it, the land of Argonians, should be the one featured in The Elder Scrolls 6 because The Elder Scrolls 6: Black Marsh “sounds right.”
Alternatively, we could see The Elder Scrolls 6: Valenwood, since the location wasn’t yet covered in any of the previous games. Here is why this second theory is more plausible. A few years ago, Bethesda released a memo about a game called Project Greenheart, just like it released the Fallout: Nuka World project which ended up being a DLC for Fallout 4.
The Project Greenheart could be the codename for Elder Scrolls 6 because Greenheart is a city in Valenwood!
