Researchers Min Zheng and Xialong Bai revealed on Twitter that they managed to exploit the iOS 12.1.2 through a Port-Oriented Programming (POP) attack, which let them get root access on all 2018 iPhones (iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR).
Before we start getting hyped about the iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak, we have some bad news.
The researchers can easily bypass the PAC system on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. If so, they can develop an iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak, but usually, researchers do not make these vulnerabilities public, which means there will not be an iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak anytime soon.
Is It Possible to Unlock iPhones in 2019?
Here is why it is not easy to unlock iPhones this year: first of all, researches report the vulnerabilities to Apple most of the time, and the company patches them in the next update to make sure that iPhones cannot be unlocked.
