The Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are out, the Apple Watch Series 4 has already a huge success so Apple is expected to have more beyond an updated iPad Pro with all-screen design and Face ID. Probably there’ll be a new MacBook perhaps to replace the MacBook Air, plus that darned elusive AirPower charging mat and AirPods 2. Apple’s new iPad Pro will be revealed soon and will be the culmination of a busy few weeks for Apple.
The analyze of MacRumors about each announcement in recent years comes to the result that the Apple company follows a pattern when it comes to a new release.
Joe Rossignol also has closely looked at what events Apple has held late in the year every year since 2010 and even checked out the taglines on the event invites in order to be able to predict the release data of the devices.
However, Apple sometimes reveals a product with nothing more than a press release.
On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in Chicago, a demonstration of the Froggipedia App using the Apple Pencil on the new 9.7-inch iPad is performed at an Apple educational event at Lane Technical College Prep High School.
The Steve Jobs Theater held a small number of events from Apple and it looks like the company keeps it for the most special events to invite people outside Apple in.
The truth is Apple holds key events in all kinds of places, like Tim Cook teaming up with the Malala Fund in Beirut in January.
The other big events this year were WWDC, held in San Jose for the second year running and the launch of the iPad in March. That was held in Chicago, not Cupertino.
As a conclusion, the event can be anywhere, Apple loves to be unpredictable.
So when Apple’s new iPad Pro will be revealed?
Well, October is pretty busy due to the Google event in New York on Tuesday, October 9 where the of the latest Pixel phones is expected. That leaves three weeks in October: the weeks commencing October 15, October 22 and October 29.
The week beginning October 22 seems unlikely because of another Apple product, the iPhone XR that goes on sale on the Friday of that week, October 26. Apple may not want to take the focus off that phone before it even goes on sale, especially as many analysts say it is going to be a massive seller.
Jeremy Horwitz from Venture Beat suggests that October 30 could be an option as it falls just a small number of days before the fourth-quarter earnings call, as the company’s late announcements usually do.
Apple wants the announcement made sooner rather than later and we have to keep in mind that all these predictions might be wrong, but lets keep the hopes high.
However, the cold light of mathematics and the likelihood cast by previous evidence are ultimately minor elements compared to what Apple needs to make sure it gets it right.
In conclusion, the best guess is the last few days of October may be the ones to watch. Apple never has an event on a Monday, apart from the WWDC keynote, so keep an eye on Tuesday October 30 or Wednesday October 31.
