In the recent past, Apple released not only some new devices (iPhone Xs, Xs Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4) but also its newest operating system – iOS 12. This time, the company decided not to revolutionize iOS, with most of the improvements aimed at making the performance much better. However, even though most users did not even have time to test iOS 12 fully, the rumors about iOS 13 have started circulating the internet. According to some of them, the next version of Apple’s operating system could see some real changes for the first time since the introduction of iOS 7. Let’s take a closer look at some of the likely features of iOS 13.
The possible features of iOS 13
Mark Gorman, who is a Bloomberg contributor, stated that iOS 13, whose codename is “Yukon”, will have a totally new home screen, which is going to be called “springboard”. He also confirmed earlier leaks reported by Axios, according to which photo-taking, editing and sharing will be improved on iOS 13, in addition to other modifications, such as mail and in-car UI.
The biggest change since 2013
In case the interface is really going to be ported to iPhones, it would be the most significant change of interface since the introduction of iOS 7 in 2013.
Some of the other features that we are likely to see on IOS 13 are:
- a cross-platform support between the next iOS and macOS 10.15
- a new set of emojis
- a new improved Apple Pencil
When will iOS 13 be released?
As usual, we expect for Apple to announce its new OS during the WWDC event, which will take place in June 2019. Following a preview developer version, iOS 13 should become widely available in the middle of September 2019.
