Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us: Part 2 made the list of the most anticipated games in 2019 in everyone’s rankings so far. And this also means that we all want to hear when the survival-horror game will be announced for PlayStation 4. The Sony exclusive game is a TBA title – just like Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, but Gustavo Santaolalla’s apparition at his concert teased the release date at the beginning of a song.
‘The Last of Us: Part 2’ Could Be Released This Year
His mentioning of TLOU2 gave us hope that the title will come out this year!
According to Game Rant, the musician and composer said in his concert something about what he will play during that event, that some of the pieces are from TLOU, but he will also play some pieces from TLOU2. He did not say anything about the release day, but he said that the game should be “coming very soon.”
In a Reddit post by u/DragonDDark, we saw the video with him stating that, and the caption:
Gustavo Santaolalla (The last of us soundtrack composer) just said that TLOU2 is coming very soon.
The “coming very soon” statement from the composer means we should expect a 2019 launch. However, Naughty Dog should come out and announce a release window – a certain month at least. A former IGN editor Alanah Pearce also wrote a while ago that TLOU2 had been set for this year.
We should also consider that the developers could push back the release date if they feel that the game is not polished enough.
What we are sure is that until Naughty Dog announces or teases us with at least something regarding the release game, we will have to make do with the E3 2018 gameplay footage and get ready for when the game is announced.
