We all know Bethesda confirmed that they would come at E3 2019 and hold a press conference. But what we hoped to see were Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI. Tough luck for TES fans all over the world…

“It’s going to be a long time”

It seems like Bethesda executive producer Ted Howard had some bad news for us at the PAX East panel. We won’t hear about these two games because they don’t want to reveal anything about the two games at the E3 this year. Howard did show a little about the engine at PAX:

That’s just a little sneak peek at the technology that we’ve been building. People are going to see [the tech] at first, actually, in Starfield. And so that tech will have like the second version of it in TES6, and–before everyone asks–please be patient. It’s going to be a long time. It’s not something we’re going to be talking about at E3–either of those games–this year. And so patience, please. But given the [Elder Scrolls] anniversary, we did want to give everybody a taste.

We’re not surprised that TES VI is very far from being released, now Howard specifically adding that it’s “going to be a long time.” One thing is true, he knows when the games will be released, as he mentioned last year at E3, but added that he wouldn’t share it with the public as it “would be foolish to say it.”

Next-Gen Consoles, The Name and Setting, Bethesda Titles of 2019

In other interviews, back in 2018, Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines and Matt Firor, the ZeniMax Online Studios game director said that TES would release for the next-gen consoles, and Howard said the same thing about Starfield at E3 2018.

We know almost nothing about Starfield, except for being a new IP that’s been announced in 25 years and shows a space station being sucked into a black hole.

As for The Elder Scrolls VI, the trailer only shows some mountains, fog and tree, and fans have tried their best to theorize about the game setting or the name, especially with that legal issue on the name Redfall.

While we dream about The Elder Scrolls VI and wait for more hints about the game, we can at least enjoy The Elder Scrolls: Blades which is now in early access. There are more games from Bethesda being launched this year, so we will surely hear about them at E3 – we’re talking about Rage 2, Doom Eternal, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
