Samsung’s offer of affordable smartphones is set to be expanded, as Galaxy M will soon join the already established A and J series. This upcoming device is rumored to be launching near the end of January in India, in an attempt to boost sales in this second largest smartphone market in the world. Users in other parts of the globe will be able to purchase this brand new device at some point in the future.
Samsung will release three variants of Galaxy M
According to various reports, the upcoming smartphone will be available in three distinct models: Galaxy M10, M20 and M30. The device is rumored to be a replacement of the J series and it is expected to have a new Infinity V display.
When it comes to the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy M, its basic variant, M10 will have a 5.6-inch LCD display, an Exynos 7870 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a battery with a capacity of 3,000mAh. It is said to have a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera.
The bigger model, Galaxy M20, will come with a 6.1-inch LCD display, an Exynos 7885 processor and a 5,000mAh battery. M20 will have a 12MP + 5MP dual camera on the back and an 8MP selfie camera.
Samsung will try to regain its former position in India
Considering the fact that India is the second biggest smartphone market in the world, it was a big hit for Samsung to be overtaken by Xiaomi in this Asian country. In the Q3 2018, Samsung sold 9.6 million smartphones, while Xiaomi managed to ship 11.7 million devices. The introduction of Galaxy M gives the South Korean company hope that it can win back the number one spot in India, which in turn would definitely help Samsung dominate 2019 in the smartphone market.
