ASUS Republic of Gamers has officially unveiled two new smartphones from the ROG Phone 3 gaming series, which come with very powerful chipsets, 144 Hz screens and 6,000 mAh batteries.
The series includes the ROG Phone 3 and ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition models.
The first is the top of the range and will be delivered with Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, accompanied by up to 16 GB of RAM. The second, cheaper model includes the Snapdragon 865 chipset and 8 GB of RAM.
The ROG Phone 3 can be ordered with an internal storage capacity of up to 512 GB (UFS 3.1). Strix Edition will only be available in the 256 GB version (also UFS 3.1). Otherwise, the two smartphones have identical technical characteristics.
The terminals have an AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.59 ”(resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels), a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 1 ms. The fingerprint sensor is built into the display.
On the back, the smartphones have a triple-camera system, consisting of: 64 MP main camera, 13 MP ultrawide (125 °) and 5 MP macro. The front camera for selfies has a 24 MP sensor.
Smartphones include the AirTrigger 3 system, which allows in-game control by touching the haptic sensors on the edges of the phone. It now also includes a motion sensor, which gives gamers more ways to control the action.
ROG Phone 3: Many accessories are available
ASUS ROG claims to have improved the cooling system, now called the GameCool 3. It has a redesigned 3D vapor chamber and a large graphite film behind the screen to maximize heat transfer.
For additional cooling during long gaming sessions, the new removable external AeroActive Cooler 3 fan is also available.
A USB-C charging port is positioned on the side so that the battery can be charged during play. The port can also be used to connect accessories such as the AeroActive Cooler 3, which has a USB-C pass-through connector, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a new stand that allows phones to be placed on a desk or table. .
ASUS ROG also offers the new ROG Kunai 3 modular gamepad, which adds physical controls similar to those on consoles.
The phone can support dual screen games at 144 Hz with the new TwinView Dock 3, and the Mobile Desktop Dock allows users to connect a keyboard and mouse to the smartphone.
