PS4 enthusiasts and Xbox One fans get both good and bad news ahead of the PS5 release date announcement.
The new console has been surrounded by tons of rumors lately, and the release date is a highly debated subject these days.
The latest rumors are suggesting that an announcement will reach us at the beginning of 2019.
This could also be followed by the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two that could be launched in 2020 or even sometime late in 2019.
Anyway, those who have been excitedly waiting for a significant announcement are getting bad and good news at the same time.
Red Dead Redemption 2 upgrade
We’ll start with the good news. There is a massive game in the works for the PlayStation 5, according to the latest reports.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will get a considerable upgrade on the next-generation hardware. The game will get the chance to be ported on the PC as well.
An upgrade for the RDR2 for the PS5 and Xbox Two could also be ready by 2020. On the other hand, it’s important to note that the news doesn’t come from any of the companies, so it’s still a rumor basically.
Red Dead Redemption 2 managed to sell more than 17 million copies to retailers since it was launched.
This means that RDR2 surpassed the original Red Dead Redemption in lifetime sales already.
The PS5 release might not be quite around the corner
Recent rumors that have been gaining traction online claim that thePS5 would be announced at the beginning of next year.
This was part of a more extended prediction that claimed that the Xbox console would be revealed later this year.
But the thing is that Microsoft’s XO18 show that was held during the past weekend didn’t announce anything about the subject. This means that the rumors might not be true and the PS5 release date could be coming much later than anyone though so far.
“There are a few articles out there; a few rumors; and a little hearsay as to what [the new consoles are] and when they’re coming and what they might be,” EA CEO Andrew Wilsons aid.
He continued and explained “I don’t think we’re in a position today to have a conversation about that. But just know that we’ve worked with Microsoft and Sony and Nintendo for many, many years and we look forward to working with them for many, many years more, even if we all collectively seek to move–either some portion of or all of our experiences – to the cloud.”
