As far as the release date of the much-awaited PlayStation 5 is concerned, we don’t have too many details about it yet. However, we do have some great news about Sony’s anticipated console, as we’ve just found out that the device might offer backward compatibility with all the games that were ever made for the PlayStation.
New leaks about PlayStation 5 have come to the surface
According to some recent rumors, a new patent filed in Japan by the main creator of the PS4 chips has just been spotted. This patent would allow a part of the upcoming device’s processor to act as a processor for absolutely all the games that were released for Sony’s PlayStation so far. Based on a new report, the new processor is believed to function as if it was the same processor that was used before on the previous systems.

So the new patent suggests that there is a chance for us to see old games working on newer consoles, which is great news for Sony’s fans. Nevertheless, nothing is certain for now, so we cannot know for sure whether the leaked patent is intended for the PlayStation 5 or not. This doesn’t mean, of course, that we cannot hope for the rumors to be true. Since fans are eagerly waiting for the company’s next console, which is expected to be released sometime in the future, it’s not surprising to see them getting their hopes up about the upcoming device.
The sad news is that we still don’t have an exact date for the release of the PlayStation 5, and based on what we know until now, the system is unlikely to be launched before 2020 – 2021. Still, we continue to hope that at least some news about the PlayStation 5 will follow not long from now.
