We expected and Apple delivered. On Tuesday, the 30th of October, Apple expanded and revamped the iPad Pro lineup during its event placed in Brooklyn. The new premium tablets now come in three sizes: the 10.5-inch model from 2017 remains priced at $649; the redesigned 12.9-inch version that now starts now at $999; the brand new 11-inch model that starts at $799.
News and rumors
You can order the new iPad Pros starting from now and they will be shipped to you by the 7th of November. Prior to yesterday’s event, there were some rumors going around and they proved to be remarkably accurate. The two models that were announced yesterday come with a new design that features thinner bezels, rounded corners and a profile that is slightly slimmer.
The home button disappeared and it was replaced by the Face ID authentication technology coming straight from Apple. Also, the headphone jack and the Lightning port are gone, their place being taken by USB-C.
The magic on the inside
Inside the new iPad Pros the is quite a considerable amount of power that comes from the new eight-core A12X Bionic processor – designed by Apple – that is capable of supporting the Neural Engine technology. It can also be found on the iPhone models released recently.
The storage capacity now tops 1 TB and the Apple Pencil stylus also received an update, now coming with wireless charging. The new redesign represents Apple’s way of doubling down on the strengths of the iPad Pro, enabling creative tools that are backed by serious processing power. Also, the iPad’s capabilities for gaming and AR have been ramped up as well.
Preorders started and the new iPad will start shipping on the 7th of November. Order now one and try it out.
