An unexpected update for GTA V’s online mode will help players complete their goals as it offers several in-game rewards for completing various tasks.
The update comes ahead of the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the most anticipated sequels in the recent years.
The move may also come as an attempt to increase player retention as many Rockstar veterans are looking forward to RDR2. While the new game will certainly capture a significant part of the player base Rockstar has already promised that consistent updates will keep coming for GTA Online.
In order to keep the player interest up, they announced a rich reward program that will take place in the following weeks. For a limited period of time, you will have the chance to earn up to $2 million in in-game currency, more than enough to buy a variety of useful items.
In order to get you started, upon logging in between will receive $ 300,000 dollars, and a fun Green Wireframe Body Suit. Hurry up as they won’t be available for long.
Players that completed the Stone Hatchet and Double-Action revolver challenges will receive $250,000 if they enter the game this week.
If players finish the challenges this week, the rewards will double, and an additional $250,000 will be offered for logging in the following week, bringing the grand total to $1 million.
Players that have pre-order Red Dead Redemption 2 will receive $1,000,000 in order to keep them busy until the game launches.
All the rewards should be received by October 22.
A new major update is also coming in the following weeks, although the exact launch date is not yet known. RDR2 will also receive its own multiplayer component, named Red Dead Online, and advertised by Rockstar as a unique multiplayer experience.
Red Dead Redemption will launch later in November, while the single-player experience will be available in on the October 26.
