Nebraska Makes Decision on Keystone XL Trace

The Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC) on Tuesday rejected TransCanada’s request to reconsider its latest decision on the Keystone XL pipeline. In approving the project last November, the PSC authorized a different route than the one proposed by the company.

On November 20, the Nebraska Public Service Commission lifted TransCanada’s final regulatory barrier to the controversial Keystone XL pipeline project.

However, the route that was authorized is not the one originally proposed by TransCanada.

A new trajectory, supposed to reduce the footprint of the oil journey on the territory, was imposed by the PSC.

Request for review dismissed

TransCanada asked the Commission to reconsider its decision and allow it to use its preferred route. The request was rejected by all the commissioners of Nebraska by a unanimous vote of 5 to 0.

The Commission said in a statement that it will not comment on its decision.

There is a possibility of a court appeal to TransCanada if TransCanada decides to challenge this decision again.
