Moto Z4 Play Design and New Specs Available

The trend of the iPhone notch is fizzing out but it seems that Motorola was able to change the design in order to look better that most of the notches that can be seen on other Android devices.

Renders of the P40 AND Moto Z4 Play surfaced recently on the internet and the design choices for both devices are quite interesting. The Z4 Play will sport a minimalist notch shaped in the form of a water drop. The bezels are also quite minimalistic since the company aimed to increase the screen size to the limits.

Specs

The edge-to-edge display measures approximately 6.2 inches and it is likely that it will offer a Full HD+ resolution. A Snapdragon 675 processor will bring a huge gain in power in comparison to the 636 SoC used by the Z3 Play. Both are mid-range chips but the 675 processor is faster, with a maximum clock speed of 2GHz, and the 11 nm standard makes it more energy-efficient while also boosting some capabilities like image editing and artificial intelligence.

Some sources claim that the device will use a single camera with a 48 MP sensor. Since the Pixel 3 is able to shoot incredible frames with 12MP Motorola has the potential to deliver an incredible camera experience. The battery was also replaced with a bigger one that able to store up to 3,600 mAh, enough to keep the device working for a long period of time.

Increased security

The side-mounted fingerprint sensor has vanished into thin air and it is thought that the smartphone may feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The feature is quite rare on mid-range devices and it could attract a few customers that want to try it.

Versions and release date

The latest rumors mention two versions, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space and the other with 6GB RAM and 128GB. A possible release date could pop-out in June which means that the device won’t make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress which takes place later in February.
