According to the official changelog shared by Motorola on the official Indian site, an Android Pie update will be soon available for the owners of Motorola G6 Plus.
It seems that the update will include all the new core features of the operating system, two of them being the anticipated Adaptive battery and Adaptive Brightness options that will certainly enhance user experience. Android Pie is also available on the Moto X4 and the Motorola One Power smartphones. The update will also include the December security patch.
Below you can find a comprehensive list of features that are available in the new update:
- Gesture navigation feature
Those that are bored by the traditional trio of Back, Home and Recent buttons will be able use the gesture-based navigation system.
- Adaptive Battery
The system will be able to learn which apps are used more often. Those that are used rarely will be placed in a ‘’stasis’’ in order to maximize battery life. If you decide to keep the feature active apps that are rarely used will not be able to show new notifications right away.
- Adaptive Brightness
The device will be able to associate the level of brightness you prefer for a particular app and the environment in order to adjust it while on the fly. A few days of training will be needed.
- App Actions
App Actions will allow you to quickly use certain apps by memorizing your daily usage pattern. If you use Google Maps while travelling towards work in the morning you will see a shortcut that will quickly open Maps with the destination already set.
- Improved security
Apps that have access to the microphone, camera and device sensors will not be able to use them while they are idle.
Important notice:
Motorola advises users to charge their smartphone to at least 50% before they attempt to install the new update. A strong Wi-Fi connection is also recommended.
