We have a mixed bag of news for the ardent followers of Rockstar Games, as the game creator is seemingly gearing up for an impressive remaster launch.
Potential Setback for GTA 6 Due to Red Dead Remaster
The eagerly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 may hit a roadblock, if the grapevine is anything to go by. A recent evaluation by the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee has led to speculation that Rockstar is prepping for the long-anticipated remaster of Red Dead Redemption for both PC and consoles. This rumour found backing in the words of Kotaku’s Zack Zwiezen, who states that the project had momentarily been in a state of limbo.
As I previously reported, there had been plans for a RDR1 remaster/remake for a while, but post-GTA Trilogy debacle those plans got shelved.
However, I was told that the RDR1 remaster wasn't dead, just taking a pause until closer/after GTA6's launch.

In a recent tweet, Zwiezen revealed, “There had been propositions for a RDR1 remaster for quite some time, but after the GTA Trilogy fiasco, those plans were momentarily on the back burner. However, I’ve been informed that the RDR1 remaster hasn’t been completely shelved, but rather put on pause until the launch of GTA6 is within sight or already executed.”
Should this speculation hold any truth, it’s time to keep your fingers crossed and hope that the launch of the Red Dead Remaster doesn’t impact the eagerly awaited release of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is projected to hit the shelves between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025.
These timeframes are based on discussions during a recent investors meeting by Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two.
Take-Two’s words were clear: “Fiscal 2025 is a landmark year for our organization. We’ve been molding our operations for the past several years to deliver a sturdy pipeline of projects that we predict will escalate our success to unprecedented levels. During Fiscal 2025, we aim to usher in this fresh phase by rolling out several groundbreaking titles that we anticipate will revolutionize our industry and empower us to surpass $8 billion in Net Bookings and exceed $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow.”

Information about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto instalment has been trickling out since last year’s significant leak.
According to the leaked information, the new Grand Theft Auto title will be set in Vice City, with both male and female characters being playable. One particular scenario depicted the characters looting a diner, echoing previous suggestions of a Bonnie and Clyde-style narrative.
Another leak points towards Grand Theft Auto 6 featuring multiple drag racing venues, alongside at least one agricultural setting.
