Words about the possible location were out while Rockstar is working on GTA 6, but it seems that is not an option anymore.
We are getting closer to the end of the console generation with this new GTA 6 release, after the previous one, GTA 5, come out originally on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
The preliminary work on GTA 6 started in 2016, according to TechRadar, even though Rockstar has been busy with the Release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the multiple expansions on GTA Online.
Just to be clear about where Rockstar is heading with the new game, we’ll have to take a closer look on the report of TechRadar mentioned above. We’ll scatter the past, on the infancy of Daily Star Gaming section, to find out about its future.
At some point, according to that report, Tokyo was a possible location for the next GTA game, as they wanted to change the US-centric locations. The report also tells us that the company had registered trademarks for GTA: Tokyo.
Changing the US locations comes as a surprise?
No, it does not. It doesn’t seem like the craziest idea, because in the past, GTA played around with a London location and a Liberty City in GTA Chinatown Wars on a game focused on the Triad.
The team responsible for the development of GTA 6 made a few trips to Tokyo in order to gather infos, but, despite their efforts, the project was abandoned because “the road system was seen to be problematic and became one reason the idea was canned.”
With the idea of moving the action of the game in other location being ruined, we can now expect another American setting for the GTA 6.
All we can do, besides waiting for the game arrival, is trying to make an idea on how the game will look, on what GTA 6 can realistic deliver to the fans.
There are leaks suggesting possible locations for GTA 6 and we already have an idea about what graphics we could see.
Knowing how Rockstar played with the base between games in the past and judging by the size of Red Dead Redemption 2, we can make an idea about the size of the game’s map.
