One of the best things that can be said about Android smartphones is that they get better with each new year. Just take a look at Google’s own Pixel smartphone lineup for example. The Android parent is expected to unveil Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL later this year and both smartphones are going to feature powerful specs, innovative features, but most importantly, a new operating system called Android P.
Android P
Google has made it a tradition to reinvent its operating system every year and the tech giant has just released the third beta version of Android P. Therefore, the public version of Android P will come out during the upcoming months and it will change the way Android smartphones work. However, this doesn’t mean that Google is not releasing any new updates to its current Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.
Google Play Store 12.6.13 APK Update
Even though Google’s developer team might be focusing all its attention on Android P, the developers are not forgetting about Android 8.1 Oreo. In fact, the developers have just released a brand-new update for the Google Play Store which changes the feature’s version number to “12.6.13”.
The update is available in the form of APK, but this shouldn’t come as a surprise since Google always releases its updates as APKs and after a couple of weeks it starts rolling them out OTA (over the air). The role of APK updates is to give beta testers and eager users a way to get their hands on the latest features that Google wants to introduce ahead of everyone else.
The Stability Has Been Improved
Google Play Store is not an average app that’s used for entertainment purposes and it plays an important role in the Android ecosystem. Therefore, the developers wanted to make sure that it always works at peak performance levels and they introduced a bunch of software tweaks with the new update.
