Cyberpunk 2077 has already been confirmed, and fans couldn’t be more excited. However, this doesn’t mean that everything works smoothly. It appears that the team had to deal with several changes, some of which managed to slow down the entire process. Accordingly, the new design director for Cyberpunk 2077 is the former Witcher 3 director.
Last year, at E3 2018, we received a gameplay demo of the game, and we are expecting a big announcement for E3 2019.
There were some internal changes that might have influenced the game. CD Projekt Red decided to offer the position of design director for Cyberpunk 2077 and vice president of game development at the company to Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who’s also the director of Witcher 3.
Sebastian Stepien is the former creative director, but he decided to leave CD Projekt Red to work on a different project for Blizzard. We do not know yet whether this change affected Cyberpunk 2077 in any way. Tomaszkiewicz received the position while the game was already in development.
Cyberpunk 2077 fans are optimistic about the designation of the former Witcher 3 director as the game’s new design director
Nonetheless, there are plenty of reasons to trust the new design director, if we take into consideration the success of The Witcher 3. The company also released a mysterious Valentine’s Day message, which seems to contain a hint related to a possible release date.
If the launch date is confirmed, it would appear that game development wasn’t delayed by this internal change, which would be a good thing. More than that, there were no negative rumors so far, which is another good sign.
The Cyberpunk 2077 release date wasn’t officially revealed, but the game is expected to come out at some point this year. The game is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Keep an eye on E3 2019, as the studio might have an announcement for us.
