According to a recent report, Apple has decided to release three iPhones this September, repeating its format from 2018. This year will bring us two new phones with OLED screens, as well as the next iPhone XR, which will feature an LCD display.
iPhone XR will get another chance
The latest report by The Wall Street Journal stated that Apple is willing to give another chance to hugely underperforming iPhone XR. Although this device has failed to bring expected profit, some experts believe that, in the long run, it will perform much better.
iPhone 11 Max will get an extra camera
Thanks to some recent renders we already know that the successor to iPhone XS Max will feature three cameras, which will be arranged in an asymmetrical way. The final design, of course, may be different, but the addition of the third camera is definitely going to attract some new users.
When it comes to this year’s version of the 5.8-inch iPhone XS, it is still expected to have two cameras.
2019 variants of iPhone XS and XS Max will not be that similar anymore
When iPhone XS and XS Max were launched last September, many users praised Apple for creating two devices that, other than their sizes, were almost identical. In most cases, smaller phones tend to have reduced specs, compared to the larger variants. Unfortunately, it looks like Apple’s 2019 iPhone will follow the latter path, as the 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch models will not be that similar anymore.
Going back to iPhone XR, the report mentioned that this device may be the last iPhone ever that will feature an LCD display, as all iPhones released in 2020 are expected to have OLED screens. Also, the budget version of iPhone will get an extra camera as well in the next year’s lineup.
