There are many Chinese based tech manufacturers who are trying to take the tech industry by storm, but no one is doing it like Xiaomi. What makes Xiaomi’s smartphones stand out from the rest is the fact that they feature the perfect combination between powerful hardware specs and affordable prices. Not only that, but Xiaomi is always doing its best to roll out all of Google’s latest software updates that introduce new features and bug fixes.
Xiaomi Announces Update List
With that said, Xiaomi has announced which of its upcoming smartphones are next in line to receive Android 9.0 Pie. This is Google’s latest operating system update and it’s renowned for taking the performances and user experiences of smartphones to the next. Nonetheless, here are the Xiaomi smartphones which will receive Android 9.0 Pie in the upcoming future:
- Redmi Note 5;
- Redmi Y2;
- Redmi S2;
- Redmi 6;
- Redmi 6A;
- Mi Mix 2;
- Mi 6;
- Mi Note 3.
These eight Xiaomi smartphones are next in line to receive Android 9.0 Pie. They will all be updated with the latest software tweaks before the second quarter of 2019 ends. In addition, more than ten Xiaomi smartphones will also receive Android 9.0 Pie in the third and fourth quarters of 2019.
Expected Release Date
Redmi Note 5, Redmi Y2 and Redmi S2 are going to be the first ones to receive Android 9.0 Pie. The update will be rolled out during the upcoming weeks and it will arrive through OTA (over the air) channels. Therefore, we advise all Xiaomi fans who are getting ready to download the major operating system update to do it over a stable Wi-Fi network and not via mobile data. Moreover, the smartphone’s battery level needs to be at least 50% so that the update process doesn’t get interrupted.
