How do they look like?
Compared to Android Oreo, Android Pie has more colors and curved edges, which were not present on Oreo. Overall though, the difference between them is not that big.
Which one is “smarter”?
Android Pie has one new feature that Oreo did not have – Dashboard. Its main function is to monitor the time a user spends on various applications and on the phone in general. Dashboard can be especially useful to those who spend too much time on their devices, helping them to realize it.

Another new function that Android Pie has is the ability to set limits of usage for every app, allowing its owners to control the time they spend on a specific app.
Night mode
When it comes to the night mode, Android Oreo had an option to remove the blue light, making it easier for its users to fall asleep. Pie goes even further, allowing its users to set the sleep time, before which the “do not disturb” mode gets activated.

Android Pie is definitely much smarter than Android Oreo thanks to an extensive usage of machine learning and artificial intelligence features. The new operating system keeps on learning your behavior, which allows it to predict what you want to do at any time and, if possible, to do that for you.
