Everyone who’s ever shopped online for a new iPad or iPhone and tried to check Amazon has probably noticed that there are a lot of third-party sellers.
Soon, Amazon will have its very own offerings of brand new Apple products which will include iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and the new iPad Pro.
Amazon is working to enhance the customer experience
“Amazon is constantly working to enhance the customer experience,” Amazon told TechRadar in a statement.
“And one of the ways we do this is by increasing selection of the products we know customers want. We look forward to expanding our assortment of Apple and Beats products globally.”
The new Amazon deal was first spotted by CNET and it seems that it will limit the sellers of new and used Apple products on Amazon to Apple-authorized resellers.
This means that you will likely see fewer product pages for the same product made by Apple. There will also be newer devices at retail price and maybe even some Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals with Amazon.
“The Amazon-Apple deal encompasses the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and India, with the new products hitting Amazon sites in the coming weeks. Only Apple-authorized resellers will now be allowed to sell Apple and Beats products on Amazon’s marketplace,” CNET noted.
After January 4, 2019, independent sellers are out
It’s not exactly clear when Amazon begins offering Apple’s new products directly without the involvement of third parties, but it’s going to be sometime soon.
January 4, 2019, is a clear date for the cutoff of independent sellers. After this date, only Apple-authorized resellers will have the ability to keep listings for new and used Apple devices.
If Amazon decides to begin selling the new Apple products before Black Friday and Cyber Monday, these new listing combines with the existing reseller offers could highly expand the online availability of iPhones and iPads for shoppers who are looking forward to holiday offers.
