In a few days Apple will unveil its 2018 iPad. The launch should take place on Tuesday during an exclusive even in New York.
The iPad Pro has become a staple in the digital market and the newer version may be a game changer. As the competition sharpens Apple needs to make a few improvements in order to keep its advantage. Below you will find a list of features and changes that would set it apart and keep its status as the king of tablets.
Drop the bezels
Many sources believe that the new iPad Pro will have an edge-to-edge display, maximizing the display space available on the device. This will mark the death of the home button, as it is likely to be replaced with Face ID if the bottom bezel will be removed.
Face ID has become popular among users and it Apple may opt to use it in order to increase screen size but while keeping the same body proportions.
Better battery life
While the iPad Pro can be used for up to 10 hours before you need to plug it in, a better battery life is always a great improvement. A speedier charge time would also be great, in order to reduce the device downtime when it needs to get juiced up. It is thought that Apple may drop the traditional Lighting port for the USB-C.
Smarter, Faster, Better
With the launch of the 2018 iPhone line Apple unleashed the A12 Bionic chip, one of the most powerful processors currently available. Last year’s iPad Pro used an improved A10X Fusion, but if Apple can use the newer one on the XR, it shouldn’t be too hard to adapt it for the iPad.
Keep the price thin
The best device comes with a significant price and the iPhone XS Max raised the price bar again. While a higher price is expected, we hope that the numbers won’t be too big.
Swap iOS with macOS
iOS 11 had some nifty extra features on the iPad the limitations of a smartphone OS could be felt. Bringing macOS on the iPhone could have a huge impact but the chances are slim.
