Oppo did make a couple of interesting announcements. The company was one of the first phone manufacturers that announced the release of a 5G device. While this isn’t something groundbreaking, as many companies will launch 5G smartphones this year. Oppo did manage to be one of the first ones that announced it.
The company had an event that took place before the Mobile World Congress, which can be considered a big advantage. Not many companies managed to do this already.
The handset
It appears that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The device will also bring 5G, as we already mentioned before. According to Oppo, the handset will already be on display this week.
The handset also announced a revolutionary technology. The smartphone is supposed to ocme with impressive zooming capabilities. The cameras are quite impressive. For example, the main camera will have 48 MP and there will also be a 16 MP ultra wide angle shooter. More than that, a 10x zoom telephoto camera is also expected.
Oppo also explained that the triple camera will have support for focal lengths from 16 mm to 160 mm. The zoom tech is quite impressive. Back in 2017 Oppo revealed a 5X zoom tech that used a prism and a periscope. This time it appears that they managed to evolve even more.
It has already been confirmed that the next product will come with 10x zoom capabilities. The handset is supposed to have a Q2 2019 reveal. This means that it won’t take too long until the product will be released.
The 10x zoom technology was already presented in China at the beginning of the year. The device will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
