10 Phenomenal Games Rumoured to Arrive in 2020

Great Games Scheduled for 2020 – Including No Deposit Slots

There are some great releases scheduled for 2020 across a range of genres, from sequels to remakes, and the odd new IP. We’ve picked out 10 of the best games that are confirmed or rumoured to be out in 2020.

The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us was a new IP from Naughty Dog, and went down an absolute storm when it was released in 2013. Combining visceral combat with a gruesome dystopian future, the game was saturated with tension, fear, and tied together with a nigh on perfect surrogate father-daughter storyline. Unsurprisingly, the sequel has been highly anticipated, and although the release date has been pushed back a bit we can expect The Last of Us Part II in late May. From the trailers it looks like we’ll be mostly playing as Ellie rather than Joel this time, and although there are some lighter moments it looks like the game will have all the conflict of the first. The big question will be whether it can live up to the narrative that exalted its predecessor from very good to excellent.

Halo and Half-Life

A staple of videogames returns in the form of Halo Infinite. Scheduled for the holiday season of 2020, FPS fans will once more be in the capable hands of Master Chief as he battles to save mankind again. Details are a little thin on the ground at the moment, but the popularity of Master Chief has never waned so expect sky high sales and plenty of multiplayer bloodshed. Halo Infinite is also being touted as a release title for the new Xbox, which is bound to help the console sales as much as the game.

Whilst FFVII and RE3 (see below) are getting remakes, Half-Life 2 (released in 2004) is getting a follow-up game with Half-Life: Alyx. Although not the Half-Life 3 many anticipated, this new game will feature Alyx Vance as the player-character (the daughter of Eli, whom the player will fight alongside). Players will face off against the alien Combine in Half-Life: Alyx, which is a VR game compatible with all PC headsets. VR isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for some games it can work extremely well and it’ll be interesting to see how this title goes down with reviewers and players.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is to be released in April, and comes after CD Projekt Red’s incredible success with The Witcher 3. It’s a big act to follow, but aided by the breath-taking Keanu Reeves and the same design director as The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be a contender for the game of the year. Set five decades in the future, players will find themselves in the middle of a corporate-run city in which cybernetic enhancements are as everyday as earrings and makeup are today. Expect immersive realism, an engaging plot, and perhaps a cameo from Ciri (if The Witcher 3’s Easter egg is followed up).

Bethesda Bounces Back?

Away from the lacklustre reception of Fallout 76 and Wolfenstein Youngblood, Bethesda received some better reviews with the release of Doom in 2016. It turns out gamers never get tired of kicking seven bells out of demons, or each other in multiplayer. So long as Doom: Eternal, scheduled for release in March, keeps that same focus on simple, fun, fast-paced combat, this game should sell like hotcakes.

One of the few new IPs on the list is the unconfirmed 2020 release possibility of new sci-fi RPG Starfield, also by Bethesda. The firm has had a dramatic downturn in public perceptions, from the epic success of Skyrim (released all the way back in 2011) to 2018’s Fallout 76 which, to be charitable, has had a distinctly mixed reception. Obsidian’s very well-received (but limited in scope) sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds means that Bethesda has both real competition in this area, and an urgent need to make up some ground after the reputational damage caused by the multiple problems with Fallout 76. But it’s worth remembering how much people loved Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, and if Bethesda get Starfield right we could be looking at an RPG into which people sink hundreds if not thousands of hours.

Whether you’re into RPGs, FPS games or anything else, there’s going to be a lot to enjoy in gaming in 2020. But when you’re not in the mood for videogames there are plenty of other distractions to enjoy, including online casinos. Not only do they have better payout rates than brick-and-mortar establishments, players from the United States can also benefit from some great bonuses, including no deposit special offers. These allow players to try their hand at poker, blackjack, slots, and more without wagering any money but still winning real cash if they finish ahead. USA no deposit casinos will also be releasing many slots titles in 2020 for gamers who enjoy them – including Yggdrasil’s Ice and Fire and Microgaming’s Book of Atem.

Remakes

Final Fantasy VII was one of the games I got when I bought my original Playstation, so seeing it remade makes me both excited and a bit nervous. It’s the biggest hit in the biggest fantasy RPG series of all time, featuring epic music, engaging characters, a great storyline, and an iconic villain. This is going to be an absolutely massive hit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it shattered a number of sales records. If you’re not high on nostalgia it’s worth noting the game features a modernized combat system and top notch graphics. FFVII is out in March.

Following up on the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 is getting the same treatment in 2020. Set for release in April, action horror fans can relive the grisly results of the T-virus in unprecedented graphical detail in the game that completes the story arc of Raccoon City. Will Jill be able to survive the murderous attention of Nemesis? There’s only one way to find out. Multiplayer fans will also be able to enjoy the inclusion of Resident Evil Resistance, a 4v1 asymmetrical survival horror approach to playing with (or against) friends.

Future Releases

Battlefield 6 (also known as Battlefield 2021) is pencilled in for release, but not until 2021. The Battlefield series is one of the big beasts of the FPS genre and has flitted about the timeline from the fictional future to the depths of the Second World War. Information on the next instalment is pretty sparse, but one key piece of news we do know is that it’ll be available on the next generation of consoles. This should make it a cut above other near future FPS offerings, and players are also set for more live service, multiplayer, and social features, as well as competitions.

It’s been quite a few years since Grand Theft Auto V came out and this longstanding juggernaut of videogames is due another release soon. GTA 6 is the subject of much speculation, with some rumours suggesting that the game might be out in December of 2020. The stunning scores from countless reviewers and the appetite of gamers to relieve the stress of the real world with some consequence-free violence is sure to make GTA 6, whenever it comes out, another milestone event in the gaming calendar.
