If you’re that happy owner of one of these three mobile devices, Samsung Galaxy A8, A7 or A9 (2018), there’s some pretty exciting news coming your way.
It looks like the Wi-Fi Alliance certified all these three smartphones for Android 9 Pie.
Getting closer to the latest Android platform update
This means that all these phones which are Samsung’s mid-range offerings are now one step closer to the newest Android platform update, according to Android Authority.
It may be safe to say that this move somehow runs counter to Samsung’s updated software roadmap which doesn’t include the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018).
The popular online tech magazine believes that this could be a mistake from the tech giant’s part since the roadmap includes the Galaxy A8 Plus and A9.
Anyway, Samsung’s 2018 A-series phones are set to get the Pie in April, this year.
This rollout that’s about to come might take a while and April 2019 should be seen as the starting point for the rollout of this update.
“Most of Samsung’s devices, including the A-series smartphones, will not get the One UI overlay — only the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, Note 8, S9 and S9 Plus, and Note 9 will get One UI. The overlay makes it easier to get to certain UI elements with one hand and adheres to the round aesthetic of Pie,” Android Authority notes.
Samsung Galaxy S10 update
Users who cannot wait to update to Samsung Galaxy S10 on the other hand, have recently celebrated a confirmation that they have been waiting for a long time. The launch date for the phone has been made public.
Phones are not that successful during CES, but CNET has recently revealed that this year Samsung managed to steal the show.
The South Korean outlet ETNews recently suggested the Samsung S10’s 5G-ready model will come with some mindblowing hardware and price tag as well – around $1,425-$1,600.
