Epic Games has released a new patch version 7.40 for Fortnite, which brings some new changes to the game. The new patch adds a completely new weapon, the Infantry Rifle, while also introducing a Valentine’s Day event. This is one of the biggest updates we’ve seen this season. Let’s take a look at what the new changes are.
What are the main changes brought by the Fornite patch v7.20?
The new gun has high damage, is semi-automatic and shoots with great accuracy. The weapon falls somewhere between hunting rifles and assault rifles.
The patch also comes with Overtime challenges, which can be carried over into the next season. For the present-day battle pass owners, the completion of these challenges will unlock new forms of battle pass skins from last year. What you need to remember is that if you complete 13 or more Overtime challenges before the 27th of February, you will get the Fortnite season 8 battle pass for free.
Other additions to the game brought by the patch v7.20 are the usable disguise bushes. Players will be able to use disguise bushes as shields, as they can absorb one instance of damage.
Other changes
- A bug that was causing projectile weapons to fire in an imprecise way when aiming at other players from close range has now been fixed;
- Another issue that was causing explosive splash damage to become locked whenever players didn’t really have cover has also been taken care of;
- A new event, “Share The Love Series”, has been introduced. This new tournament series is available from the 14th of February until the 24th of February and players will need to compete across any of these four division tournaments: Open Division, Prospect Division, Contender Division and Champion Division.
