Bethesda did not announce a release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 and fans can only guess these days. As you all know, this is one of the most anticipated games ever even if The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is still really popular these days.
What Bethesda did was reveal that they have begun working on The Elder Scrolls 6. They presented a 30-second video with a landscape and the title The Elder Scrolls VI. Bethesda also plans to release Starfield, which will launch before The Elder Scrolls 6.
VGR raises an issue: they write that looking at the state of play at the end of Skrim, it seems likely that we’ll be seeing a massive conflict between the Empire and Thalmor in The Elder Scrolls 6.
Will we see the Empire fall?
The online publication wonders whether we will actually see the downfall of the Empire.
The Empire “seems to have been declining ever since the Oblivion Crisis. Black Marsh has seceded and conquered most of the remnants of Morrowind, while the Aldmeri Dominion has now overthrown Imperial rule in the Summerset Isles, Valenwood and Elsweyr,” they wrote.
The main question that the online publication brings up is how much in-game time will have passed since Skrim because it will all depend on this. If Bethesda makes only a small jump, then The Elder Scrolls 6 could be taking place during the next massive war between the Empire and the Dominion.
But on the other hand, if Bethesda decided to make a considerable leap in the game, this will definitely open up a ton of other possibilities.
Closing words
The Empire has existed in a form during every game so far, but it’s important that it has been declining for a while.
This could be hinting at the fact that it could actually collapse altogether. Check out complete suppositions and predictions here.
