Apple has sued a company whose logo has a pear

The most valuable company in the world, Apple, has sued a small company whose logo has a pear.

The Prepear app helps users discover recipes, plan their meals or make shopping lists. According to the founders, Apple sued the company because its logo, a pear, would have “attributes similar” to those of the iPhone manufacturer’s logo.

The company presented the situation in a message posted on Instagram. “It’s a big blow for us at Prepear,” wrote one of the founders on the social network, stating that he does not intend to change the company’s logo.

Prepear has launched a petition on Change.org in which he hopes to persuade Apple to drop the dispute. The company claims that it already has difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The conflict with Apple would have led to the dismissal of an employee

The company has only five employees. The conflict with Apple would have already cost her thousands of dollars and would have determined her to fire an employee.

“It is a frightening experience to be legally attacked by one of the largest companies in the world, although I have clearly not done anything wrong,” the petitioner wrote.

At the time of writing, the petition had collected over 13,000 signatures.

Prepear claims that Apple also caused problems for other small companies, due to the fruit-based logos they wanted to register.
