Huawei Mate 40 Pro appears with a quad camera system and a new screen that takes to the extreme the waterfall design used with the Mate 30 Pro predecessor.
Expected in just a few months, Mate 40 Pro already appears in a series of unofficial renderings, distributed from a credible source.
What Huawei Mate 40 Pro looks like
The main difference between the standard Mate 40 model and the Pro model is the much more dramatic curvature of the screen, which almost envelops the side of the case. However, for extra elegance and some protection in the case of blows received from the side, the design chosen by Huawei also provides a narrow metal frame. It follows the frame left on the short side of the case and looks like it will have a chrome finish, adapted to the color tone of the phone.
The screen will have a diagonal of 6.7 inches, but due to the very curved edges the phone will be tall and relatively narrow, compared to other models with a similar surface screen.
At the back, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro frames the quad-camera system with a circular metal ornament, slightly reminiscent of the style of Motorola phones. It adds quite a bit to the thickness of the phone, Huawei using the extra space to accommodate a camera with Persicope-style technology (absent in the non-Pro model), capable of providing an impressive level of optical zoom.
Inside the case we find the Kirin 1020 chipset, obtained by Huawei using the 5nm manufacturing process.
Unfortunately, maintaining the trade bans imposed by the United States leaves Huawei at a disadvantage compared to other smartphone manufacturers, the Chinese manufacturer can not include the Google service package on any of the newly launched products, and the Mate 40 Pro series is no exception.
