The 9th of October marked the day that Nokia Android 9 Pie’s first beta available for its 6.1 Plus model. HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas made the official announcement through the use of Twitter. Those that wish to give a try to this beta have to head over to Nokia Beta Labs and download the update from there.
Of course, because it is still just a beta version you would be advised to expect some bugs occurring since at this stage it is quite possible for things to not be running very smoothly. That’s why it isn’t usually a good idea to install a release in this form on your main device. However, in the end it is entirely up to you and it depends solely on your patience and how you are able to tolerate various issues which may occur.
In either way, you shouldn’t wait more than a few more weeks for the finalized version of the Android 9 Pie update to be released for the Nokia 6.1 and it appears that it will become available for all the units ever sold.
The Android 9 Pie Beta is available now on the Nokia 6.1 Plus TA-1083 variant in India and it seems like the update size is around 1258 MB. Those that wish to enroll to the Pie Beta version can do so now but if you are among the unlucky ones who break their phones into the process, know that you can roll back to Oreo.
Among the changes and features which are expected to be brought on to Nokia 6.1 Plus, we mention the all-new gesture-based navigation option, Notification improvements, a lot of UI changes, usability improvements, a revamp of the Settings and of course, there are more which you will find out on your own.
