Microsoft has been trying its best to launch a browser that can compete against the likes of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, but to no avail. While Microsoft is having troubles with its Edge browser on desktop PCs, the story is different for smartphones. Edge is actually a powerful mobile browser that delivers a premium user experience and this is exactly what smartphone users need in order to surf the web and search for the information that they need.
Microsoft Edge 42.0.2.3773 Update
The reason why Microsoft’s Edge is making headlines on our website today is because it has just received a new update. The update sports the 42.0.2.3773 version number and it weighs in at 82.78MB. This is a lightweight update and it requires a minimum of Android 4.4 KitKat operating system in order to run without any problems.
What’s New?
Smartphone users who enjoy the features and performances that Edge has to offer should be pleased to find out that the new update comes with a wide array of software changes and bug fixes. While these software changes might not be as exciting as new features, they are certainly more important because they enhance the overall software stability of the mobile browser.
APK Variant
Before we sign off, we also want to go over the fact that Edge fans who want to download the new update can do it in the form of APK. This is a special type of update and the APK acronym stands for “Android Package Kit”.
The tricky part about installing this type of updates is that they are only compatible with Android smartphones and not just that, but the Android smartphones also need to have the “Unknown Sources” option enabled. This option can be found in the Settings panel.
