A new job posting by BioWare Edmonton seems to suggest that the highly anticipated Dragon Age 4 might have a multiplayer mode. The position of technical director could be focused on developing the new Dragon Age game, which was teased for the first time during last year’s The Game Awards.
BioWare is looking for franchise technical director
The job posting was spotted by Gear Nuke and it reveals that BioWare would like to employ someone who would be “the most senior engineering lead on the game team and a key member of the Dragon Age franchise leadership”. The perfect candidate will “build and mentor the engineering team, build and execute the game technology plan, and define and direct the development process”. It is also crucial for the future employee to have “experience developing multiplayer games”.
Only Dragon Age Inquisition has multiplayer
So far, only the most recent title, Dragon Age Inquisition, had multiplayer mode. In this third game of the series, a team of up to four players has to pass through a dungeon full of enemies, controlled by the computer and increasingly hard to beat. Luckily, there are many powerful weapons and abilities available for the team members, waiting to be unlocked. This progress, however, is not connected to the main campaign. It is possible that BioWare decided to improve this mode or maybe even develop a completely new mode.
Not much is known about the upcoming Dragon Age game
So far, BioWare does not provide us with any news about the next Dragon Age title, but the company has been teasing its fans for a few months now. According to executive producer Mark Darrah, the game is being developed by a team of experienced Dragon Age veterans, who have been working on the next title of the series for quite some time.
