Halo Community Director Brian Jarrard tweeted at the beginning of April that the Halo: The Master Chief Collection public tests will start this month if all goes according to the schedule. However, because its developers are working to enhance and further improve the game, there won’t be a PC beta for Halo this month.
In the middle of the month of April, Brian Jarrard announced that Halo: Reach, the first title programmed for public testing may be delayed. To the disappointment of numerous enthusiastic fans who can’t wait to venture into the experience, Jarrard confirmed today that the public flights have been postponed.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection Beta postponed
“I know excitement and anticipation is off the charts and everyone here inside the studio shares it as well. But this is a really complicated project and we all agree that quality trumps everything else and we need to bring MCC to PC at the bar Halo fans and PC players expect and demand. That’s turning out to be more challenging than first anticipated in some aspects while there’s been great progress and work done in plenty of other areas,” a blog post by Jarrard reads.
The Community Director stated prior to this that PC is ‘considerably’ more complex and it demands much more work. One of the principal goals is to refine the mouse and keyboard controls, and 343 has acquired a team of former professional players to help with that. Even so, there are still a couple of complications that need to be solved too, such as having to run a separate application just to remap the keys.
Jarrard, the Halo Community Director hasn’t yet shared an updated ‘target timeframe’ but he did say that the development is going very well and Reach is already a lot of fun to play on a PC. 343 will release an update blog in regard to the development of Halo: The Master Chief Collection these days. Also, PC and Xbox users can sign up for the Halo Insider program to have access once public testing launches.
