Seeing how successful the current title still is, we believe that the next title of this popular series might arrive a little bit later than expected. Unfortunately, this delay might disappoint quite a big number of fans, as many of them would like to see The Sims 5 being released in the near future, despite the popularity of The Sims 4.
The fact that 2018 was such a good year for the game is just another reason why the release of The Sims 5 will be delayed, most probably until 2020 or maybe even 2021. There’s also a statement given by EA Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson that pretty much proves that what we believe is in fact right, “Fiscal 2018 was a year of strong growth and continued transformation for Electronic Arts, as we expanded the reach of our leading franchises like FIFA, Battlefield and The Sims to more players across more platforms and geographies.”
Wilson then added that “In the year ahead we will expand the world of play with amazing new experiences and new IP, more competition and industry-leading subscription programs. There has never been a more exciting time to be engaging and entertaining global communities.”
As we can easily see from Wilson’s statement, the company is pretty happy with the success The Sims 4 had in 2018 and it is planning to release more updates and add more content to the current game. This clearly means that the launch of the much-awaited The Sims 5 will be undoubtedly delayed. We believe that 2020 could be the year when the next title will make its appearance, but nothing is certain yet.
