iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak: All The News We Have So Far in One Place

iPhone users are still waiting for a full functioning jailbreak tool. In the past months developers managed to make a couple of breakthroughs, but the latest iOS still miss a complete tool. Jailbreak users have a new reason to hope, as a new exploit was discovered.

The iOS 12.1.2 update was released less than a month ago, so it is a good thing that vulnerabilities are discovered so fast. The latest discovery might help developers come up with a jailbreak tool for the latest iOS version.

Min Zheng announced that he found an exploit for iOS 12.1.2. He posted the news on his Twitter account. As Zheng is a senior security engineer at Alibaba, it is unclear whether the exploit will be used for an iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak, or Apple will be notified about it. You can read Min Zheng’s tweet below:

Upcoming iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak tool

Even if Zheng isn’t willing to produce the jailbreak tool for iOS 12.1.2, the exploit discovered by him could be exactly what jailbreak developers need. More than that, this is not the only exploit found recently. Developer @S0rryMybad also found an iOS 12.1.2 exploit at the beginning of the month, and it hasn’t been fixed by Apple yet.

The jailbreak community needs some good news, as things haven’t been perfect lately. For example, the Cydia app store doesn’t accept new purchases anymore. Jay “Saurik” Freeman, the founder of Cydia explained that it is exhausting to maintain the app and it has also affected him financially. He mentioned that he also thought about closing down the app store for good.
