When the Google Pixel 4a launches, the long-awaited mid-range model

Google’s new mid-range phone is probably the most delayed phone of the year. After Google canceled the spring I / O conference, the company moved the launch of the Pixel 4a internally, without making it public. There were other attempts to launch the phone in June and then in July, but it seems that only in August, a year and a few months after Pixel 3a, we will see the new budget mobile device from Google.

The launch of Pixel 4a has finally been set

According to new information, published by Google itself, on Monday, August 3, the company will officially unveil the new Google Pixel 4a. Links to a teasing campaign have begun to appear on Google’s social media accounts, suggesting that its new phone will be officially announced very soon, and a small online puzzle leads to a photo of a phone with a hidden design and the said date of 3 August.

Why is this model so important to Google? Because last year’s Pixel 3a and 3a XL proved to be very successful models in the market, helping to increase the company’s mobile division. Priced at about $ 400, that model offered a camera with performance comparable to that of the standard Pixel 3 model, with unmodified Google software and average hardware that provided a pleasant user experience.

The mid-range model will be equipped with slightly outdated hardware

The Pixel 4 series disappointed some fans, especially because of the autonomy issues that the “small” model offers. A Pixel 4a with less demanding hardware and half price could attract fans of Google phones again. In fact, Google could have a direct competitor on the market for the iPhone SE, but also for the recent OnePlus Nord model.

In terms of hardware specifications, the Pixel 4a will be a little behind, according to rumors. The phone could be equipped with a Snapdragon 730 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal storage options. The rear camera will use a single sensor, but its performance should be high due to optical stabilization and AI photo processing from Google.
