Microsoft Edge receives Edge Collections, an extended version of the bookmark list

Available for some time in the desktop version, the Edge Collections feature adds in the Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS editions a new illustrated section with images, text and content from sites saved as bookmark files.

While bookmark shortcuts are simply links associated with web page titles, which you can organize into lists and groups of folders, Edge Collections associates the identity of each saved website with cover images, snippets of text, and, more recently, excerpts. from the content recently published on that page. And you can organize them in less formal collections, for example, according to thematic criteria such as recipes or online stores.

Microsoft Edge Collections, a reinterpretation of the bookmark list

Quite useful in the Microsoft Edge desktop version, the Edge Collections feature has been extended to the Android and iOS editions of the app, with the idea that users can access the collections of saved sites from anywhere, any changes made being automatically synchronized between all devices associated with your Microsoft account.

It is remarkable that Microsoft has managed to take over the entire functionality available in the mobile version in the desktop version, the only real constraint being the screen size. Thus, on tablet and desktop, Edge Collections can take the form of a panel displayed to the right of the web page. Instead, on the smartphone, the display mode is in the form of a list that occupies the entire screen.
